Apple to announce iPad 3 on March 7?
Contrary to previous rumors, it is believed that the new iPad will feature a quad core processor
New emerging reports suggest that the next big thing in tablets, the iPad 3 is to be launched in the second week of March. We've stuck to the March announcement date since a while now and this new info just sheds more light into it. Though not officially confirmed, iMore suggests that the iPad 3 will break cover on March 7.
The original iPad and the iPad 2 were announced at the Yerba Buena Center and the source suggests that Apple will most likely launch the new iPad at the same venue on Wednesday the 7th.
Wednesday, incidentally is Apple's favorite day for device announcements. The venue for the launch hasn't been booked yet, or at least that's how it appears on the Yerba Buena Center's schedule.
Shedding more light into the specs of the new iPad 3, it is rumored that the tablet will indeed sport the quad core A6 processor contrary to earlier reports. So it is yet to be seen if the tablet will actually feature the said CPU.
Also said to be on board is an LTE chip for ultra fast LTE networks, though we doubt if most world markets will be able to make use of the feature. Apple is very secretive about its events and that isn't likely to change this year as well. We should see the invites being sent for the event just a week prior to the said announcement. That's how Apple likes it to be.
