Huawei to showoff quad-core smartphone and MediaPad 10 at MWC
Huawei has sent out invites to the unveiling of its ‘fastest smartphone’ on February 26, 2012
Smartphone and tablet enthusiasts will have a lot to look forward to at the MWC 2012. Huawei is expected to release a powerful new smartphone and a 10-inch tablet at the conference scheduled for the end of the month.
Huawei has set the rumour mills spinning with the press invite it has sent out to the media, advertising its big event.
The invite reads says: ‘You’ve heard the rumours…now see for yourself as Huawei Device takes a leap into the future of mobile communications to unveil their fastest smartphone yet’.
It goes on to say, ‘Join Richard Yu, Chairman of Huawei Device, as he brings you on a journey to discover the incredible technology and power behind Huawei’s latest smartphone’.
Huawei’s event is scheduled for the 26th of February at the MWC in Barcelona. Though details about the company’s exact plans are sketchy, Phandroid came across information on a Japanese website that claims that Huawei will unveil its latest smartphone, the Huawei Ascend D Q.
The new handset is expected to be the fastest and most powerful yet from Huawei and the ‘Q’ in its name could very well stand for quad-core. The ‘D’ is believed to stand for diamond, representing the company’s new line of devices.
According to the Japanese blog, the company will also showcase a new 10-inch tablet called MediaPad 10. This tablet is expected to be an upgrade of Huawei’s 7-inch MediaPad.
Looks like Huawei as its sights set on the upper end of the market now.
