Apple testing 7.85-inch iPad prototype?
Apple is rumored to be working on a 7.85-inch iPad prototype
Fresh reports have claimed that Apple has a 7.85-inch iPad prototype sitting in its labs.
The Cupertino based giant is apparently testing out a much smaller sized iPad prototype.
As per bgr, John Gruber, a Daring Fireball blogger, has given out a cue on a recent talk show about Apple ‘noodling’ with the smaller iPad variant.
He mentioned, ‘Well, I don’t know. What I do know is that they have one in the lab…a 7.85 inch iPad that runs at 1024×768… it’s just like the regular iPad shrunk down a bit’.
Adding further, Gruber also stated ‘I’ve heard from multiple people that this is something that they’re kind of noodling with’.
According to the Verge, the device with the given size and the said resolution will certainly not measure up to the spanking new Apple iPad’s Retina display, however with a pixel density of around 163ppi (pixel-per-inch), it would positively offer a sharper imagery as compared to the original iPad edition.
Overall, it is much evident that Apple is indeed toying with an idea of a smaller iPad version.
However whether it will actually release the same, is still a mystery as thenextweb reports that Gruber hasn’t heard from anyone about any plans indicating on whether the small-sized prototype will ever hit the market.
Going by the reports, we must say we wouldn't be surprised if Apple indeed comes up with a brand new Mini iPad, but for now, nobody knows if the gadget in question will ever be anything beyond being just a ‘prototype’.
