Nokia Lumia 510: Everything you need to know
Nokia launches another budget Windows Phone, Lumia 510 for Indian consumers. Know Your Mobile gives you a low down on the second modern entry-level smartphone in India
After teasing us with their next budget WP phone on Facebook, Nokia officially announced their entry-level smartphone, the Lumia 510 with much fireworks in India recently.
Dubbing its offering as 'Nokia’s Diwali gift to the Indian youth', the Lumia 510 will begin retailing across India starting first week of November, 2012. Expected to be priced under Rs 11000, Nokia will reveal the actual pricing closer to the launch.
This will be the second budget Lumia smartphone after Lumia 610 the Finnish company has introduced for the Indian consumers.
Available in red, white and black, the device features a bright, 4-inch display with 480×800 pixels resolution. It sports a 5-megapixel autofocus camera and is powered by a 800MHz single-core processor.
The device also provides 7GB of SkyDrive cloud storage in addition to 4GB internal memory and 256MB of RAM.
Backed by a 1,300mAh battery, the device houses several popular apps like Nokia Maps, Nokia Transport and Nokia Drive navigation apps among others. To double the fun Nokia is also including a 3-months unlimited Nokia Music and Nokia MixRadio subscription with this smartphone. Through MixRadio, consumers can stream music directly to the phone, with the ability to listen to personalized radio channels, including offline listening.
That's not all you can also download the Camera Extras and the cool tricks rolled by its sleeves.
The device is also in line for a Windows Phone 7.8 update soon. The new update will give users a taste of Windows 8. The update will bring bigger and highly customizable start screen which can be dressed in new colors, Live Tiles which can be rearranged according to your preference. There are also some fabulous apps like Audible, PayPal, Draw Something, Words with Friends which will be arriving with the update.
The Windows Phone has been gaining popularity among the Indian youth for its intuitive and exciting platform - thanks to the Live Tiles, which makes it easy to see incoming messages and updates, a PeopleHub, which brings together contacts and updates from across social networks into one location as well as access to Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer 9 on the mobile.
