Karbonn pits its second quad core offering, the S5 against Micromax A116

Karbonn surely knows how to keep pace with the changing times. The indigenous company has launched its second quad-core offering,
Karbonn S5 in the market following the popular Karbonn S1.

Rivaling true blue Micromax Canvas HD, Karbonn S5 has been launched at a price of Rs 11,990. The Karbonn S5 features a 5-inch screen of qHD resolution and is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad core Snapdragon Qualcomm processor.

It will run on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean but Karbonn might sweeten the deal by launching a Android 4.2 update in near future. It will come with an internal memory of 4GB which can be expanded by another 32 GB via a microSD card. It is a slightly more premium offering than the S1 and has better features than it too.

The device also harbors a 8-megapixel snapper at the rear and a 2- megapixel camera on the front. It will come with a gig of RAM to ensure seamless multitasking and will offer 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for connectivity. A GPS radio will also make its way to the smartphone.

Backed by a 2,000 mAH battery, the device gives a stiff competition to Micromax A116. The only difference is the display resolution but one can live with it considering the fact that there's a price difference of Rs 2,000 as well.

Karbonn with S5 brings another great option for budget users.
