Sony Xperia P visits FCC. The device is expected to launch in India in May along with Sony Xperia U

The Sony Xperia P handset was spotted at the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) office.

A little over two days back, there were talks in the tech town hinting that the Xperia P handset may be hitting the American shores soon in some way. The apparent appearance at the FCC surely testifies the report.

As per engadget, the Xperia P emergence at FCC has given out a hint of some features and capabilities that can be expected to be seen on the actual handset.

The filing revealed that the phone not only supports quad-band GSM and Wi-Fi but also GPS, NFC as well the HSPA capability.

While reports indicate that all of the above-mentioned features will be supported in the US, we are not sure if the same will apply to its Indian counterpart handset as well.

However, we do know that in all probability, the Xperia P and Xperia U handset will hit the Indian shores next month.

In a recent conversation with Know Your Mobile India, a Sony representative stated that Sony is expected to launch the P and U handsets in May. The representative further added that this will be followed by the Xperia Sola release in June.

While we eagerly await all the launches of the very many Sony Xperia handsets, you can check out more details on Xperia P and U release on our previous KYMI report.
