Sony’s next generation smartphone, the rumoured Xperia SL is believed to have received a frequency bump on its processor

Even since the Xperia SL LT26ii showed up on Indonesian website a few days ago, the tech world has been speculating about what Sony will offer on its new device. Since the place where the handset turned up is equivalent to the FCC, many believe that the smartphone is alive and kicking and getting ready to roll out soon.

Now, a few days after its initial appearance, a tipster told Xperia Blog that the Xperia SL will come with a spruced up CPU. GSMarena equates the relationship between the Xperia S and the Xperia SL to the relationship between the Xperia Arc and the Xperia Arc S. Based on that equation, the Xperia SL’s processor will most likely see a frequency bump.

Tech experts at GSMarena also feel that the ‘L’ in the Xperia SL might stand for further developments. Just like the Xperia neo L bought a larger screen and newer operating system to the Xperia neo V, Xperia SL might just bring some new goodies to the Xperia S.

The Xperia SL LT26ii will supposedly come in a new colour as well, or so the tipster who spoke to Xperia Blog says. Though further details about the device are yet unknown, and the phone itself is shrouded in mystery, the tech world has high expectations from Sony’s latest offering.

With the good response that the Xperia S has received and the new and improved Jelly Bean OS right there for the taking, there’s a lot that Sony can do with the Xperia SL. As always, we will be following the rumoured Xperia SL LT26ii closely so stay with us on Know Your Mobile India.
