The Korean giant, Samsung has launched its latest mobile phone Samsung Corby Pro in the Indian market. Following the success of its predecessor the youth oriented Samsung Corby, the Samsung Corby  Pro comes packed with all its older siblings’ traits and more. Packaged in a candy bar form, coated in striking colors with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, the Samsung Corby Pro caters to the younger  professional segment.

Consisting of a touch screen and easy to use Qwerty keyboard, Samsung Corby Pro comes packed with a 2.8 inch QVGA screen with a resolution of 240 x 320. The urban professionals will find this  device which comes in the dimensions of 105 x 56.9 x 15.68mm high on style quotient. The Samsung Corby Pro's diagonal color contrast adds to its visual appeal. A perfect streamlined shape and  compact size gets Corby a thumbs up from Know your mobile India for its ergonomics.

The Samsung Corby Pro packs in a lot of wow factor for those looking for a stylish business phones. The device feels quite sturdy in hand, despite the fact that it is all plastic. Thankfully the  added weight of 135 gms, makes the device sturdier. Had it been any lighter it would have instantly lost the ground from being favorable to flimsy.

Samsung Corby bears a close resemblance to its siblings Samsung Corby Pro. The similarities extend to the shape and sizes of the hardware buttons located below the screen. On the right hand of  the device there is a microUSB port, shutter button and hold key. The Micro USB comes with a protective lid and is used for charging the phone as well as connecting it to your computer. The Hold key comes handy in locking and unlocking the phone. The device sports two receiver keys which sit pretty on either side of the back button. We were happy to find the buttons placed at a descent distance from each other with marked difference in their shapes, so they wouldn't be mixed up.

A 3.5mm audio jack sits on the top of the device with the mouthpiece resting at the bottom. The cool thing is that the 3.5 mm ear jack lets you use any earphones, including those high tech expensive dome headsets you invested in. During the trial we found the touch screen of the Corby Pro to be a little less responsive. Some of the users are likely to find the slow responding touchscreen quite irritating. Not a big miss, but we would have liked to see the ambient light sensor to control the brightness of the screen.

Now moving on to one of the highlights of the Corby PRo - it's slide out Qwerty keyboard. Even though the keys feels a little constrained, they works surprisingly well. The keys have been set
within quite a sturdy framework. We played around with the Corby Pro keyboard and were delighted with the comfortable keys and their distinct press. It's keyboard layout has the numbers on the 'roomy' top row instead of the typical numpad layout.

The basic mechanical movements of the keys were quite definite, thereby eliminating the need to keep your eyes glued to the screen to see if the strokes were being registered or not. With dedicated shortcuts to messaging and web surfing and other frequented keys like the arrow keys, backspace, enter and OK buttons make for a seamless navigation.

Samsung Corby Pro comes strapped with a 3 mega-pixel camera with 4x zoom on the rear and a host of effects ranging from gray, negative, Sepia, Emboos, Sketch, Antique, Moonlight and Fog Photo. You also get options of modes - normal, timer, multi and night shot among others assuring perfect crystal clear pictures to your liking. Corby Pro supports a descent 240 x 320 and 176 x 144 Video player that comes with recording, messaging, streaming and Telephony options.
