"It might not as cheap as Spice’s Android offering but it offers a little more and fares just as good (if not a little better). Ultimately it’s your personal brand choice that will take precedence. The Galaxy 3, although I don’t think to be a great looking handset and a bit slow, is still a feature rich device that’s great for Multimedia and a lot more. As Android handsets go, it’s a great option. I say go for it."

“Samsung has dropped some serious competition in the budget smartphone market by Introducing a series of Android powered handsets. This is the last in the series of Galaxy Handsets recently launched in India. The Galaxy 3 promises a whole lot and delivers most of it.”

“The Galaxy 3 i5800 sells for roughly Rs. 12,000, which is a great price point. My impression about the device is pretty much mixed at this point. If Video playback is on the top of your list, then the Galaxy 3 is definitely better suited than the HTC Wildfire. But then HTC's brilliant on-screen keyboard and word prediction makes typing a real breeze. Anyway, we'll reserve the judgement till we fully review this device. ”

“The Samsung Galaxy 3 should make a compelling mid-range Android device with its capacitive screen, polished TouchWiz interface with SNS integration, and generous battery size. However, the design is nothing impressive, and the CPU plus the screen resolution render browsing often choppy and pixelated. Its strengths are mainly the social networking integration and the extensive video format support, but for quality indoor photos and HD video capture you will have to look elsewhere. ”

“The Galaxy 3 is not a bad option for those on a tight budget but who want a smartphone. It retails at S$488, but because it has been available for a while, you may be able to find the phone at S$0 with an operator contract. However, in light of Huawei and LG offering Android 2.2 devices at a similar price, it may be prudent to compare the features of these budget smartphones before making a choice. ”
