Samsung Galaxy R specs

According to speculations, Samsung is slated to launch the mid-range version of its Galaxy R handset next month with a price tag of Rs. 23,000.

The Galaxy R is touted to be a toned-down version of the high-end Galaxy S2 handset. Samsung has cut down the screen size from 4.27 to 4.19 inches. It offers features such as Android 2.3 – Gingerbread OS along with a 1 GHz processor.

Lets take a detailed look at Samsung Galaxy R handset.

The Samsung Galaxy R comes equipped with a 1GHz dual-core processor. It features a 4.19-inch WVGA Super LCD touchscreen. Along with that, it features a 5-megapixel main camera and 1.3-megapixel front cam. 

Along with a multi-format audio player, it features a 3.5 mm Stereo FM radio.

The Galaxy R comes with an attractive metallic finishing along with 66.7 x 125.7 x 9.55 mm dimensions. It seems a lightweight handset.

Along with attractive hardware, the set also features enhanced software. Samsung has equipped this set with customized softwares such as Samsung apps, Samsung Kies 2.0, Samsung Kies air, Samsung TouchWiz 4.0 and Samsung Live Panel UX.
 
It also features bundled applications known as Samsung hubs. Samsung features a social, music, game and readers hub. Each hub is customized to provide the user with enhanced access to all related applications. While the social hub integrates one’s email, contacts and calendar with social networks, the music hub offers access to 14 billion songs.  The games hub connects mobile games to its 3-axis gyro sensor and the reading hub provides the user access to numerous books, newspapers and magazines.

The handset also offers 8 GB inbuilt and 32 GB external storage. It is  powered by a strong 1650 mAh battery.
