Know Your Mobile India shows you in quick and easy steps how to connect your Galaxy Ace to a PC to access the file directory.

Using your Galaxy Ace, you can also access the documents/ files in the memory card as well, if you have inserted one in the device. The file directory will appear as a removable disk which will be different from the internal memory.

To begin with simply insert a memory card into the Galaxy Ace.

Now plug the USB-to-micro-USB data cable in your device and connect it to the PC.

A window should pop up on your phone's home screen.

Now select ‘USB connected’ followed by ‘Turn on USB storage’.
Now tap on  ‘OK’.

You can now open the folder to view the files. Now simply copy the files to or from the PC onto the memory card.

When you are done copying, click on ‘Turn off USB storage’.

Now you will need to disconnect your smartphone from the PC.

To do this click on the USB device icon on the Windows task bar and select the 'safely remove' the mass storage device.

Always make sure you have done this before taking out the memory card otherwise you will either lose your data or damage the memory card.

Now remove the  data cable connecting PC data with Galaxy Ace.

Repeat the process if you need to transfer files to or from the PC to your device or vice versa.
