Published on Mar 23, 2011

If you get a little over-excited when you receive your shiny new iPad, it's pretty easy to make changes that you later wich you hadn't.

Your iPad can also get a little upset if you add or remove too many applications.

Not to worry! A hard or factory reset will solve all those problems and it is easier than it seems. Here is how to do so.

  • On your iPad home screen, tap the Settings icon
  • Tap General in the menu to the left of the screen, then tap Reset
  • Here, you will have two options:
    1. "Reset All Settings" will restore all of your app settings to their original status
    2. "Erase All Content and Settings" will reset all app settings and erase all of your data (photos, apps, bookmarks, music, etc.)
  • After selecting one of the two options above, your iPad will reboot
  • If you selected "Erase All Content and Settings", you will need to reconnect your iPad to iTunes in order to reactivate it
