
Live blog: Apple iPhone 5/iPhone 4S launch
We're going to be reporting live on the Apple announcement - will it be the iPhone 5, the iPhone 4S or the iPad 3?

22.38: Face detection and better white balance and it takes fast photos. You can also take macro photos. Full 1080p recording
22.34: Onto the camera. There's an 8-megapixel camera. 60% more pixels than in the iPhone 4 camera. It allows 70% more light than the previous models. There's a Hybrid IR filter.
22.33: The antenna has been improved. In fact, it can now switch between antennas to gett he best signal. It has faster downloads too. 14.4Mbps down. Effectively 4G. The iPhone 4S has both GSM and CDMA.
22.30: Phil is back onstage. Battery life is better. 8 hours of talk time, 14 hours of 2g talk time, 6 hours of 3G browsing, 9 hours of Wi-Fi browsing
22.28: Infinity Blade 2 announced!
22.25: Inside it's all new. There's an A5 processor. there's dual core graphics
22.24: Next, it's the iPhone. competitiors have tried to copy the iPhone, but it's still great according to Phil. It's the iPhone 4S! The design is the same.
22.23: 8GB iPod Touch will cost $299, 64GB $399. Out on October 12th.
22.22: And onto the iPod Touch. We've mentioned some of the iOS5 features and they're available on the iPod Touch
22.19: The iPod Nano has been updated. You can swipe between icons instead of viewing a grid. There are new fitness features too. 16 new clock faces.
22.18: Onto the iPod stuff...
22.17: Phil Schiller is coming onto the stage. Come on iPhone announcement!
22.16: iCloud is landing October 12. iTune Match will be released at the end of October
22.14: iTunes Match. With iTunes match you can scan and scan and match your collection to all the songs in Apple's library. you can edit and create playlists across all devices and you can get it for $29.99 a year.
23.13: Find My Friends. You can share your location and just share it with your friends for alimited period of time. "Say I invited friends to the beach, and I want to set my location sharing to stop at 7pm. At the end of the day, it just stops."

23.04: Tabbed browsing has been introduced in the new Safari browser
23.02: Onto the features of iOS5. They include:
- You can see your notifications on the lock screen, and you can swipe to go directly to that app (Sounds like HTC's Sense UI)
-iMessage - the BBM of the Apple world
- Reminders – it allows you to create reminders for anything
- Twitter Integration – deeply woven into iOS, like in the photo app
- Newsstand: He's listing partners; there's lots – new issues are downloaded in the back ground.
- Camera
22.57: You create the card on your iPhone – we do the rest, says Forstall. 'We'll print it out, put the address on it, and mail it.' It'll cost $2.99 in the US – think we'll stick with Royal Mail thanks, old chap!
22.55: Apple is showcasing its new Cards application. It allows you to make cards on your phone and then the cards will be mailed out to you.
22.54: It's the number one app store in the world. there are more than 1 billion apps downloaded a month
22.53:n 500,000 apps on the App Store and more than 140,000 are made for the iPad
22.53: Now we're taking it to the next level. Scott Forstall is on stage.
22.52: More than a quarter of a billion iOS devices have been sold.
22.52: 3 out of 4 tablets sold in the US are iPads
22.49: Onto the iPad - 95% satisfaction rates.
22.46: 93% of Fortune 500 cmpnaies are using or testing the iPhone and 'it's pummeling the competition'
22.45: And onto the iPhone - the reason we're all here today. 'The iPhone 4 sold more than over half of all the iPhones we've sold since we started'
22.45: There are now 20 million songs in iTunes
22.43: Now onto itunes and the iPod. The iPod was launched 10 years ago.
22.42: More than 70% people are still buying something else though.
22:41: We're talking Mac with Apple right now. Apple's marketshare has increased massively.
