Asus has been one of the leading players in the PC industry. Its Eee PCs are believed to be the products responsible for transforming the laptop industry. Therefore, the expectations from its first tablet should be pretty high.
Asus are known for their innovative products that have the potential of revolutionizing the way the product market functions. So, Transformer seems to be an apt name for the company’s first tablet. And sure enough, the Transformer has lived up to the hype.
The Transformer took a short stop at the Know Your Mobile office. We tested the tablet and gladly present you with its in-depth review of its capabilities.
The Transformer seems a sleek tablet with 10.6 x 6.7 x 0.5 inches body. It seems pretty lightweight at 680 gms. The tablet comes with a leather cover at the back. This cover, in fact, comes in handy while using the tablet. It not only prevents the back from getting scratched It also lends extra support to the tablet making it convenient to work the tablet here and there.
The Transformer is equipped with many high-end features, such as a 10.1-inch WXGA touchscreen with a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution along with a powerful 1 GHz Nvidia dual-core processor. It is equipped with a 1.2-megapixel front cam along with a 5-megapixel one at the back.
It offers Android 3.1-Honeycomb OS along with Wi-Fi 802.1.1 b/g/n, and Bluetooth.
But there is more on offer. The transformer offers Stereo sounding speakers unlike any other tablet. We tested them out and were pretty much satisfied with the output.
Besides that, this tablet comes with two USB ports along with built-in support for gaming devices such as the XBOX 360 or the Play Station 3. Not only that, it offers 1 GB of RAM along with 16/32 GB storage options.
