BlackBerry, the once favorite pick of the market somehow lost its sheen when Apple and Samsung took the market by storm with their suave and futuristic products. This gush of different gadgets made BlackBerry look rather obsolete in comparison. But BlackBerry being a strong contender in the smartphone market is back with vengeance as it unleashes three new smartphones that promise to make the entire market sit up and take notice.
Among these three, BlackBerry Torch 9810, successor to BlackBerry Torch 9800 was recently launched in India. The announcement followed the release of Bold 9900, another OS7 powered device.
The Torch 9810 sports little changes in terms of structure, body and style from its predecessor. The most significant change that the old and new blackBerry lovers will find is in the new operating system. Powered by OS 7, Torch 2 comes with a excellent browsing experience and features like speech-to-text translation, outstanding multimedia with capability of recording HD videos.
The redesigned BlackBerry Torch 9810 has a new User Interface that is more user-friendly. As one opens the messaging screen one can see the number of unread messages on top of it with a Twitter icon. Unread event messages are also displayed at the top that is followed by daily itinerary. This phone has an advanced Facebook widget that is better than the previous one.
The device which includes both QWERTY keypad and touch screen comes with a Near Field Communication(NFC), which means with just one tap, one can connect with all Blackberry enabled devices. NFC which is expected to create a cult following in the future includes features like cash-less transactions which enables the mobile users to go wallet free.
The device runs on a 1.2GHz Qualcomm processor unlike the 624MHz of the BlackBerry 9800, making it a speedy device. Now navigating through different home screens and apps has become easier and more enjoyable with the higher speed being offered. RIM attributes the speed to the ‘Liquid Graphic Technology’ that has been used in it.
