The Dell Venue Pro can be used as a USB drive, so you can access the music, pictures and video folders when you plug your Venue Pro into your computer.
We show you how to set your Venue Pro up as a USB drive.
Please note that this guide should only be followed by advanced users who are comfortable making registry edits. Proceed at your own risk.
- Open Windows Registry Editor by typing regedit in your start menu
- Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetEnumUSB
- Perform a search for ZuneDriver
- The search should yield a result similar to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetEnumUSBVID_045E&PID_04EC&MI_006&27ffd631&0&0000Device ParametersWUDF
- Click up one level to the Device Parameters key
- Change ShowInShell from 0 to 1
- Change PortableDeviceNameSpaceExcludeFromShell from 1 to 0
- Change EnableLegacySupport from 0 to 1
- Change EnableDefaultAutoPlaySupport
That's it! You can now plug your Dell Venue Pro into your Windows PC using the supplied USB cable and it will be recognszed as a USB drive.
