How to use Google Maps on the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro

Like all Android phones, the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro comes with Google Maps preinstalled.

We show you how to find your position, find a PoI, route and get directions using Google Maps.

How to activate Google Maps

  • From the Home screen, find and tap Maps
  • Tap OK
  • Enable a My location source by selecting Settings. Tap Security & location. Mark the Use GPS checkbox. Tap Agree. If wanted, mark the Use wireless networks checkbox to let mobile networks find your position.

To find a PoI

  • From the Home screen, find and tap Maps
  • Press the Menu key and tap Search
  • Tap the text field and enter your place of interest, then tap Search
  • If there are multiple hits, tap the place of interest in the Did you mean list
  • The result for your place of interest is shown on the map

How to get directions using Google Maps

  • From the Home screen, find and tap Maps
  • Press the Menu key and tap Directions
  • Tap the My Location text field to set a start point other than My Location. Enter the location and tap Next
  • Tap the End point text field to set an end point. Enter the location and tap Done
  • Tap the Direction type icons to select direction type: car, bus or walk
  • Tap Go and the phone calculates the route
  • Tap Show on map to see the directions on the map. To return to directions, tap the Directions icon on the bottom left

Extra Google Maps tips

  • Touch and hold a location on the map to get information
  • Tap the pop-up to get additional information, such as street view or to see what's nearby
  • To change layers, such as view satellite image or traffic, press the Menu key and tap Layers to select your options
