How to use Walkman on the Sony Ericsson Yari

The Sony Ericcson Yari is a new release of Sony Ericsson's Walkman series phones, aimed at music lovers.

We help you learn how to use the Walkman features on your Sony Ericsson Yari device.

To transfer music to the Walkman player:

1. Connect the USB cable to the phone and the computer
2. Select Menu > Settings > Connectivity > USB > File transfer on your phone
3. Wait until the phone memory and memory card appear as external disks in Windows Explorer
4. Double click the My Computer icon on your PC
5. Double click the memory card or phone memory icon on your computer
6. Copy and paste or drag and drop the file you want to move from your computer to the phone memory or memory card

To use the Walkman player

1. Press the "W." and select Options > My music
2. Browse by artist, album, track, or playlist. Scroll to a list and select Open.
3. Scroll to a title and select Play
4. To stop playing music, press the centre selection key
5. To fast forward or rewind, press and hold the dedicated fast forward or rewind buttons on the Yari
6. To move between tracks, tap the forward or back key
7. To minimise the player, select options > minimise and to expand it again, press the "W" key

Steps to create a playlist:

1. Press the "W" button
2. Select options > My music > My playlists > New playlist
3. Enter a name and click OK
4. Scrol to a track and select Mark > Add

Steps to add a file to a playlist

1. Press the "W" key
2. Select Options > My music > My Playlists

Open a playlist

1. Select Options > Add media
2. Scroll to a track and select Mark > Add

Steps to remove a file from a playlist

1. Press the "W" button
2. Select Options > My music > My Playlists
3. Open a playlist by clicking on it
4. Scroll to a track and select Optons > Delete > Yes

Steps for using TrackID features

TrackID is a music recognition service. You can use it to identify a song, artist and album, just by holding your phone to a speaker.

To identify a track through a speaker, select Menu > Entertainment > TrackID > Start to identify it.

If you want to identify a track you're playing through the Yari's radio, select Options > TrackID with the FM radio playing.
